As a locally based optician we believe we can offer a more personal and tailored service to our elderly community. We achieve this by providing routine eye examination within 48 hours and emergency eye tests if clinically required, repairs, fittings and replacement glasses within 3 days.

Sight Tests visits available within 48 hours

Our sight tests consist of an examination of the general health of the eyes and will establish if any changes are required to a current prescription to enhance the resident’s vision. We are fully aware that not all residents are responsive or co-operative, however our experienced opticians can detect any symptoms of eye disease such as, macular degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetes or Cataracts with minimum information required from the resident and importantly with minimum disruption to the residents daily routine. 

Direct Cataract referral scheme

The opticians that will attend the appointments are accredited to the direct cataract referral scheme which means that anyone that needs referring for further assessment will be seen within a month as a GP referral is not required.

Care Team Training

Our training consits of discussion around the main conditions on how the eyes can be affected like Cataracts, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration and Diabetes. 

We also have simulation glasses which will allow your staff to see the world from your resident’s eyes giving an overall perspective on how the above diseases can affect their vison.
